Alumni Association Board of Directors Application

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Augustana College Alumni Association Board of
Directors (hereinafter Alumni Board). The Alumni Board Alumni voluntarily give their time,
talent, and treasure as an expression of endorsement of the mission and values of Augustana
College. The Alumni Board meets virtually each month to discuss ongoing activities. There are
two on-campus Alumni Board meetings during the year. Board members are expected to support
the college on an annual basis financially.

These standards of service express the basic level of engagement expected from an Alumni
Association Board Member. Alumni Board members will:
  • Accept a three-year term of appointment with the potential of a second three-year term
  • Attend and participate in two in-person scheduled meetings of the board and monthly virtual meetings
  • Assume responsibility for personal travel and lodging expenses to attend in-person board meetings
  • Cooperate and respect the opinions of fellow board members
  • Be a philanthropic ambassador for Augustana
  • Financially support the College on an annual basis (where monetary gifts are directed and the amount of gifts is at the discretion of each board member)
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and the Alumni Association by attending and assisting with Alumni Association events
Review of applications received by March 1st of each year will take place at the board's spring meeting in May and applicants invited to sit on the board will be notified by June 1st of each year. All applications will be considered for membership up to two years after submission. After this period, you will need to submit a new application.
